  • What makes each market unique?

Each market has its own personality and appeal.
Shopping in Elko: The Elko Farmers Market features a dynamic group of rotating vendors, including local and regional produce, cut flowers, bakers, breakfast foods, candy, lotion and soap, houseplants and more. The event provides a one-stop shopping experience that is easily accessible with plenty of parking and in the paved and shady parking lot behind the Elko Area Chamber of Commerce.
Daytrip to Lamoille: The Lamoille Farmers Market features an array of vendors with a focus on Nevada agriculture in an idyllic setting in the foothills of the Ruby Mountains in Lamoille. The destination provides an escape from city life for a unique shopping experience—that sometimes highlights live music, youth performances/demonstrations and yoga—plus the opportunity to combine it with day-trip activities such as a hike or drive in Lamoille Canyon, a stroll through Lamoille Grove and lunch at a Lamoille restaurant such as the Pine Lodge or O’Carrol’s.
Evenings at 2 Wild Poppies: The Evening Market at 2 Wild Poppies is an excellent date-night activity for couples wanting an outing in a romantic setting with food, drinks and shopping. It’s also a chance for busy families who might have school activities pulling them away from Saturday farmers markets to stock up on local foods for weekend meals, cookouts, snacks or picnics.

  • I’m interested in becoming a vendor at one or more of the farmers markets. Who should I contact?

The markets are always looking for vendors with food products and select makers that feature Nevada-grown ingredients. The Elko and Lamoille markets prioritize food vendors, and the Spring Creek market also is open to food vendors and crafters. Each market has a market manager plus an easy application process and small fee.
For the Elko Farmers Market, contact Dan Lotspeich at 573-337-4150.
For the Lamoille Farmers Market, contact Suzanne Featherston at 512-923-3313.
For the 2 Wild Poppies Farmers Market, contact Molly Popp at 775-934-7693.

  • Can kids come to the farmers markets?

Farmers markets are a great place for kids! Children can sample cookies and candy, find their favorite fruits and vegetables (like strawberries and cucumbers), and pick out plants to grow in their own gardens in the spring.
The Elko market is next to City Park, so parents can take kiddos to the playground on shopping day, and there are swings and a slide at the Old Lamoille Schoolhouse for children to enjoy while their parents shop or linger.
Children can explore the greenhouses and garden grounds at 2 Wild Poppies during the Spring Creek Market—while their parents enjoy an adult beverage and peruse the vendors.

  • Where do I park?

The Elko Farmers Market is in a parking lot behind the Elko Area Chamber of Commerce near Elko’s City Park, so feel free to use any of the open parking spaces adjacent to the market setup area.
At the Lamoille Farmers Market, shoppers can park along the street in Lamoille or use the gravel parking lot behind the Old Lamoille Schoolhouse (turn left before the schoolhouse, then turn right just past the old fire station garage into the parking area behind the schoolhouse).
At 2 Wild Poppies, there are a few parking spaces out in front of the business and lots of room for cars in the empty lot behind (from 2 Bottle Bar Lane heading east, turn right on Rafter Hat Road, then left on Bull Head Lane to get to the lot off of Bull Head Lane).
